Going Out Tonight? Let the Bros From The Pauly D Project Be Your Guide (Seriously!)
By now, it’s probably pretty obvious that I’m a fan of Pauly D (remember when Caroline and I partied with the slick-haired DJ?). So when I had the opportunity to chat with the D’s bros, Ryan Labbe and Jason “JROC” Craig, I jumped at the opportunity. After all, what better duo than this one for tips on how to have a good time tonight?
The boys of The Pauly D Project, with JROC and Ryan making a Pauly D sandwich.
Glamour: You’re in a bar and a cute girl comes up to you. What’s the best pickup line she could use?
Ryan: The best pickup line is no pickup line at all—they’re tacky. If I’m at a club and we’re all in the same circle, and we happen to meet—that’s awesome. I don’t want a girl who’s trying too hard.
JROC: This might be hard to believe, but the best line is just to say ‘Hello.’ That’s about all you need to do. I like it when a girl is confident enough to start a conversation.
Glamour: OK, so what’s the worst pickup line a girl could use?
Ryan: ‘Hey, don’t I know you?’ That makes me feel so awkward because then I question myself and think, ‘Do I know this girl?’
JROC: Or what about when a girl reaches behind your neck to check the label of your shirt and says, ‘Made in heaven. Just like I thought.’ That’s seriously bad.
Ryan: But that’s your pickup line!
Glamour: If a girl offers to buy you a drink, what do you hope she orders for you?
Ryan: I wouldn’t want her to buy me a drink. It’s nice of her to offer—it shows she has a good vibe—but I like to be the gentleman and pay myself.
Glamour: What kind of outfit on a girl are you most attracted to?
Ryan: If I’m at a bar, I’d want to see a girl in sneakers or flats, jeans or leggings, and just a simple shirt. Stilettos at a bar are a big no-no. And so are dirty white shoes.
JROC: Did you just say leggings?!
Glamour: Let’s play a game! Kissing on the first date—always, sometimes, or never?
Ryan: I’m a bit shy and can be awkward when it comes to girls. But sometimes I like leaving a date without a kiss because then there’s more buildup on the second date.
JROC: I’m into kissing on the first date. It’s a nice way to end it!
Glamour: Sex on the first date—always, sometimes, or never?
Ryan: If I’m looking to date a girl, I don’t want to have sex on the first date.
JROC: I wouldn’t want to have sex on the first date, but I think that if the moment’s right, it can happen.
Glamour: What’s your post-date etiquette?
Ryan: We all know about the three-day rule. If I don’t text someone within the next three days, it’s probably because I’m not interested. If I’m interested, I hit her up the next day or that night.
JROC: I like to let a girl know I’m interested, so I’ll always text her back to tell her that I had a great time and would like to see her again.
